Sail ho!

Ya might have already noticed me tries to craft some fancy saltwater gizmos.
Actually I am creating my own version of a LARP ship's kobold (Klabautermann).
After some thoughts, plans and random encounters in different shops and street
markets I have the basics for the costume - though its still way from being finished.
Those on larper.ning might have seen in my Blog how far stuff went...

At the moment I am crafting a shell and barnacle encrusted hat, which makes me
hesitate a little. The hat really went out nice - and now I need to make it look yuck -
that somehow is hard to do   The real thing I can't think of the best way to make
seaweed and algae and attach them to the hat. Clams and shells are not that difficult
at all (well, as long they don't burst into flames while fake plastelin shells and barnacles
hardend in the oven - making my kitchen a smelly place now).
So if anyone knows a good way to make fake algae + seaweed with nice texture - IM me!

Oh crap, only 3 weeks till Conquest 2011 - need to hurry with my costumeS!
