Hear thee! Hear thee! Let thy battle begin...

Mon Aug 3, 2009, 2:26 AM
  • Mood: Noble
  • Listening to: the bard Renarion
  • Reading: Markus Heitz: Legenden der Albae
  • Watching: legions of undead marching around
  • Playing: LARP
  • Eating: barbarian's spit, Mad Gobblyn all inclusive bf
  • Drinking: coffee, met, the blood of nearly innocent elves
It's agust, it's summer - and again it's time for one of europe's biggest LARPs: the Conquest of Mythodea!
Again I spend hours and hours of freetime to sew cloth and leather, slat rivvets into leather, work with
silicone and make other crazy stuff in preperation for this LARP event.

This year aver 6000 people from all over europe (and behond) gather on the fields near the small village of
Brokeloh by the knight's cottage and bring the land Mythodea into real life. Fair Knights and damsels, brutal uruks
and sneaky goblins, snobish elves and evil drow, drunk pirates and roman legions gather to fight (or try to) with the elemental avatars against the fiendish armies of Undead Flesh, Black Ice, Pestilence and Void.
Will the more or less united forces be able to free the earth-avatar Terra from her prison, the Undead armies cast her into, or will the cancer of the anti-elements spread? And will the followers of the different elementals again fight each other or will they (finally) unite and smash the undead and their allied armies?

And there are more questions:
Will the avatar of Magic again dance on the pole in the Mad Gobblyn Tavern? (I hope she does =D )
Do I get the chance to capture the foul priestres of Eilistraee (the dancing bitch) and bring her to rightfull justice in order of Lloth? (muhahaharrrr)
Will we get the chance to frighten visitors of the tavern in the labyrinth of the dungeon like every year?
Do Vinsharrs' kisses taste like strawberry? Will I find a new magician's staff - or will I get myself a new blade instead?
Does the Lady of the eastern sigil really have a drow AND a high elf lover? What do succibi wear under their dresses?
And will I get my new fancy costume I ordered??

:woohoo: This will be a week of wonderfull adventures, fun, fights and general mayhem :woohoo:

see you on the Conquest of Mythodea 2009

Some people wonder why I began playing a feline character at LARP.
The answer is pretty simple: I  CATS and cats - big ans small.
When I was much junger I adored the musical, knew every song by heart
and went to Hamburg to see the musical, made drawings of the diferent
characters (Munkustrap, Mungojerry+Rumpleteaser, Bombalurina were my favs),
and so on...

...then I discoverd some sci-fi and fantasy novels with feline alien
races in, and finally found out, that you could even play felines at LARP.
That was the day I took my feline mage out of my scarp- and Pen & Paper book
and played him at my first LARP.
I fused my likes for cats and my roleplaying to this char - and of course
took advantage of the CATS make-up.

And last week I discoverd there are far more people here on deviantart
who adore CATS and are much more advanced in dressing up as felines.

:iconshoujome: :iconbreachofreality: :iconyarndog:

are 3 deviants whose costumes and art I adore very very much!!
Give your curiosity a try and visit their site. :woohoo:

Thanks for the fav

you have a great thing going on there with the drow costumes and houses. It almost makes me want to do something like that myself.

I prefer drow males to females though. Are there any girls that dress up as male drow? I have done a bit of crosplaying as anime characters that worked out quite well....
:iconcruelcat:
In fact: no. The females rule and normally the girls want
to taste that power at LARP one hundred percent =D
But there are also female warriors and one or two female
sorceresses. So need to play a guy.

I'm not really any good at the "play" part in cosplay. But I enjoy making costumes. Don't think I would have the backbone to be a drow anyway a drow female even less..... I did make a Drow male.....either dualist or swash buckler D&D character for an evil campaign once. Only got to play him once though. He was a bit of a vain bigmouth sissy and fun to play.
His clothes and equipment wasn't very drow-like.... mostly because I enjoy drawing frock coats and stuff. Have a look [link] I just updated it :3
:iconcruelcat:
pretty nice drawing - but indeed: not very drowish
look beside the skin+hair. =D

I've got news for ConQuest 2010: it seems more likely by the day that I'll be in the Dungeon Camp next year :evillaugh:

:iconcruelcat:
Oh? Well, than welcome to the dungeon.
We have a 24/7 tavern and loads of evil and redicious plans for 2010
BUT the dungeon camp is much smaller than '08, because of the well going
plots and cooperations with other camps. So you might like to see, if there
is a camp that suits you more. One Drow Qu'ellar has moved to Earth camp,
2 houses will not be there (because they are all bloodtraitors and sentenced
to death), and my own house (except myself) was in the Pandor Camp this year.
*shrugs*

I'll be tagging along with another group I didn't think up for a change (;)) and the gal who started it has the express wish to be in the Dungeon :)

I've got a few ideas, so, who knows what'll actually happen, but I won't be all that deep in the IC side of things the coming year :)

That being said, if you've got ideas for a bunch of Demons...;)

if you and your friends have proper plans for 2010
you really should visit [link]
and let the admins know that you are comeing with a
group, what you play, and what you try to build up in
the dungeon.
So the regular dungeon crew and PCs can suport you with
an own InGame part, like a corner in the Dungeon, and you
have enough space to build up your InGame tents and so on.

Thanks for the tip :) At the moment, we're slowly setting more and more in stone - the background is there, and we're getting together the group, too. At the moment, there's me and a lady 100% sure; we expect/hope to have a group of about 5 to 8 people :)
